About Me

I'm a Software Engineer living in San Francisco.

Between my day job and my spare time I work on a bunch of random projects, including big data, artifical intelligence, education and games.

About Me

Marathon Muse is the personal site of Trevor Rundell.  I'm a Software Engineer, currently working for a Boston based startup called Visible Measures.  I do all sorts of stuff related to online video, including Flash components that track some of the biggest video publishers on the web, to Hadoop jobs that crunch through hundreds of millions of events per day.

I recently graduated from MIT where I majored in computer science and electrical engineering.  I studied a pretty broad range of stuff including AI, operating systems, computer security and digital electronics.  I still occasionally wander back to campus, particularly to work on Battlecode, an AI programming competition which I've helped direct for the past two years.

Once upon a time I was also a pretty intense runner and cross-country skier, though lately I've been a little lax on the training.  Someday I'll get back into it, I swear.  For posterity, you can find the only two (at least as far as I know) races I've run that anyone bothered to record on video at the bottom of the page.

On this site you'll find some of projects I've worked on recently as well as a blog with some of my musings about programming, online video, startups or whatever else happens to be on my mind.  I'll try to keep adding more content as I have time so keep checking back to see what's new.
